Hi All,
I have a MD3000i with 15 physical disks in it. I plan on connecting 5 Dell R720's to it. The R720's are going to be Windows 2012 Hyper-V servers so I can have about 30 - 50 Virtual servers in the end.
I plan to use RAID 10 on the MD3000i.
My question is, is it better to have one 14 disk RAID 10 disk group and one hot spare, or three smaller 3 disk disk groups?
Basically, my question is, what is the advantage of having multiple disk groups over having one disk group?
