Hi all,
I have Veeam to backup my VMs to a TL2000 with iSCSI bridge on LTO6 tape via Microsoft ISCSI initiator installed on a Windows 2008 R2 physical server.
The problem is that the speed of writing on tape is about 38 MB/sec, while LTO6 support writing to up to 120 MB/sec. The source repository is not a bottleneck, because when I backup to disk it performs 120 MB/sec with no problem.
I am using different 1GB NICs for reading from repository and writing to tape
Question: is this a limitation of using iSCSI, instead of SCSI?
Other question: If I create 2 tape jobs, and run the at the same time, will they use different drives, so I can cut by the half th time needed for the backup?
Thanks
Angelo
